i know that some didn't like Nicky's contribution to JGB, however, i actually found his tenure w/Jerry to lend something a bit different to the sound, and his personality, to me at least, was always enjoyable ... i mean, really, how could you not like Nicky?

anyway, this post is really just to point anyone interested to a torrent that was uploaded to DIME in the past day or two, the Jeff Beck Group in 1968 at the Grande Ballroom, and Nicky is on keyboards with this lineup:

BAND:
Jeff Beck - guitar
Rod Stewart - vocals
Nicky Hopkins - keyboards
Ron Wood - bass
Mickey Waller - drums

SETLIST:
01. shapes of things
02. you shook me>>>let me love you
03. blues deluxe
04. jeff's boogie
05. rock my plimsoul
06. natural woman
07. rice pudding
08. sweet little angel
09. ain't superstitious

downloaded 942 times already!

if you don't have a DIME membership, i'm willing to start a vine, i.e., send it to one person, and that person sends it to another on into infinity

i went to www.dimeadozen.org and got this messege >>

Financial Crisis Kills DIME
Unfortunately, all the billions of donations received during the past five years were invested in Lehman Brothers credit derivatives. Well, you all know what happened. Even selling our condo in Maui (gawd, how we miss it!!!) didn't help, it was merely a drop in the bucket.

So, as this cup has not passed DIME by either, which is why we are now having to adapt to some drastic savings measures. Which means: we did what the damn bankers didn't!

We fuckers jumped! The site was shut down today!
No condolences, please. We've fucked up royally, so it's only consistent, don't you agree?

We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused. We sincerely hope you'll have better luck at another site.

Farethewell – it was fun while it lasted!

Hey guy...I noticed that ref below to JGBand at Concord, which I was "at" and recall Hopkins being a component of JGB shows during the mid 70s, but don't recall if he was at this one...pathetic, eh? Maybe it was when I saw JGB in 76?

Does anyone know which dates he played with Jerry? I know I saw them together in the Bay Area at some point.

sorry, i erred in my post, for some reason i generally just view all '75 Jerry as LOM, however, technically, LOM was active from 7/12/74 to 7/5/75 ... Nicky joined the JGB on 8/5/75, and was with the band through 12/31/75, and so yes, he was with the band on 10/17 when you saw them ... by the way, glad you are enjoying the 2/14/68 release, i can't wait to get mine in the mail ... did you get the bonus disk with yours?

I've always been a little foggy about a show I attended on 10/25/75 which was promoted as "JGB" or Jerry and Friends. The lineup was Merl, Kahn, Vitt, and Fierro. This might have been a one night only thing, but it was right in the middle of the tour. Unfortunately, there's little evidence as a set 2 AUD is all that circulates, and I've never seen it.

Ever feel like you're talking to yourself? Not me! I was here, I might be back in a bit...

Just to say some thing on a topic... Didn't Nicky H play with just about everyone? I know I heard him in at least 1/2 a dozen different bands... That I can remember, so that probably makes it more like 50 o0r so!!!

Hey man--this is confusing me! You are just about to join the ranks like all the other rif-raff...did you hear it's actually against the rules here to "annoy" anyone? Dire hasn't posted once since he was told.

Good to see ya!
